GHANA CHAMBER OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO DEDICATE TWO SECTIONS OF ITS KNOWLEDGE FORUM EVERY YEAR TO TACKLE FRAUD

A program dubbed, Knowledge Forum Series by the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications in its 19th Knowledge Forum on November 9, 2021 held in Accra Labadi Beach Hotel, has touched on a number of significant issues which affect the Consumer, Mobile Money Agents, Industry Players, etc among which includes, Mobile Money fraud, Scamming, Hacking of WhatsApp pages both individuals and groups, Identity theft, Unsolicited Communications, etc are a major challenge to the industry. All these borders on national security.

A presentation made by the Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr.Kenneth Ashigbe has revealed significant contributions made by the Chamber and its members ranging from capital investment, education to help fight the menace of the Business. The media have been rallied to join the fight and sensitization against fraudsters.
The Chamber has hinted at advanced plans in collaboration with the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana to institute a community-Agents-based education on the activities of these Syndicates.


Present at the 19th Knowledge Forum are the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, National Communications Authority, Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana, Institute of IT Professionals – Ghana, Telcos, Bank of Ghana, etc. MMAAG as a body believes strongly that, this is a course worth supporting and will do anything in its power to assist the chamber in this line of action.
